Okay, so I'm a 15 year old girl and I'm 5ft 4in. I weigh about 200 pounds and I'm ready to change that. There is no way I could go on some diet, so don't even suggest it please. I'm poor and I eat what my mom feeds me. I have talked to her about it and she refused to change what we eat and said I was being ridiculous. I just want to know how much bike riding a day and how often a week. And please don't leave any judgmental comments cause I'm bullied enough at school.
How to Be Lazy and Lose Weight

You're quote, "I'm poor and I eat what my mom feeds me." OK...just don't eat ALL of it every time. Practice push-outs. Push yourself out - AWAY from the dinner table before you get stuffed. It's time to start consuming about half to maybe two-thirds (at the most) of the food you have been eating. I was in the same situation several years ago that you're in now. Have I drastically changed my diet? Nope. I just quit eating SO MUCH! I did cut out sodas - even diet soda. Start drinking more water or iced tea.Fat only goes on fast. It NEVER comes back off fast - period. You'll need to eventually get up to an HOUR of cycling per day - if not more to see any results. Start off by doing whatever you feel comfortably with, but add to it every week. Add 5 minutes, 10 minutes or 15 minutes of riding every week. You start off with a short warm-up period at slower speeds. Then ride an hour (if possible) pedaling at a rate or "cadence" of at least 70 - 90 rpm in gears easy to use with moderate pedal pressure. Learn how & when to shift gears to reach & maintain that cadence. Have your saddle (seat) at the proper level (height) for optimal leg extension & power. End with another period at slower speeds to cool down.Despite what you wrote about diet - here's what you NEED to read. Diet is MORE important than exercise alone. No healthy diet - no weight loss...or very little. - With that attitude? None. Calorie intake vs. calories burned. Burn more calories than you take in. So don't diet. Just stop eating so much! D'oh! http://www.adinnerguest.com/wp-content/uploads/homer_doh.png
- Your Mom needs to read the article on first link from Hippie. Diet is more important. You need to eat less. & ride more.http://shine.yahoo.com/summer-living/diet-vs-exercise-matters-most-152700978.htmlNo one is bullying you here. We're just presenting the facts. You need to stop eating so much.
- You will have to ride for 1-2 hours a day starting with whatever you can do today and build up on that. Once you get to the point that you can do 15 mph for one hour, you may start noticing a small difference. To really loose, aim for two hours a day or about 30 miles. Then you and everybody else will see it.
- KatieIt still, does not mean you cannot diet! You,can use the push back diet. Eat the same foods you,do now. Just PUSH your plate back, when you are 1/2 done. You may never lose any weight by exercise alone. You must burn a net loss of 3500 calories,to lose one pound. You burn calories,at 35 per mile. But if you take in more calories per day than you burn off.... You won't lose...but gain weight!Soccerref
- Why even bother if you are not going to change what you eat. It's not what you eat it's how much. You have to ride 100 miles to lose one pound so start riding.
- I rode 10 miles a day for years. Kept my weight down. It's better to be healthy and overweight than unhealthy and over weight.
