Vegan Questions! Help!?

I'm an unhealthy vegetarian at the moment. I sometimes make healthy decisions since the restaurants I've been to didn't have vegetarian options unless I only ordered vegetables. I drink a lot of water, I love my fruits and veggies. I'm doing this lifestyle for me, my health and I don't agree with what happens in the food industry. Ever since I became a vegetarian with no problem (a month ago from today) I've been wanting to be a vegan! I knew that being a vegetarian first, just to get used to not eating meat would help a lot with going vegan so that I don't have any trouble with cutting out all animal products cold turkey! I had my doubts about going vegan since I've tried doing it before, because every time I've quit about 3 days later. But I soon realized, if I can cut out cheeseburgers & steak, I can cut out macaroni and cheese! I got the descriptive part of my question out of the way, now it's the real stuff! 1st question is; what if I don't get all of the nutrients I need? I don't want some kind of disorder. Or anemia, definitely not that. 2nd question; how much weight would I lose going from an unhealthy vegetarian to a clean eating vegan? I've lost 8 pounds just from my transition from a meat eater to a vegetarian. I'm just wondering how much weight I'd lose if I were to cut out all processed and fast foods and just eating vegan along with exercise. You don't have to tell me an exact amount of weight I'd lose, just an estimate would be good. Again, I'm doing this for my health and for me along with not agreeing with the food industry. Thank you! :)Please no rude comments, or negativity about it. People who know about being a vegan answering this, would be great!

How to Diet with Brown Rice to Lose Weight

I became a vegan on St.Patrick's day 2011 with my twin and younger sister. When we stared we were 16 and 14 years of age. My little sister had blood drawn and reg doctor visits to be sure everything was good and sure enough everything was fine. We did get sick the first week from the cause of meat withdraw but ever since we have not been sick only the common cold witch we had for only 2 days. Don't worry, you should be getting all the nutrients you need unless all your eating all day are rice cakes and canned vegetables. Now as for the weight loss keep in mind your weight. Heavier will loose more then people of normal weight. i lost about 16 pounds but it did take about a year. Exercise daily for quicker results. REMEMBER it takes 4 week for you to realize your body's changing so don't give up too quickly! P.S your stomach will start to flatten about 3 days after eating more raw foods (fruits, veggies, nuts, etc), less processed foods and more water. Also you won't lose muscle, the people that tell you other wise are just telling you what they believe, they have not been vegan so therefore cannot give you more than a mere opinion (i gained muscle w/o even trying)Note: since your doing this for your health i will tell you that animal product are in everything ex: there is animal fat in toothpaste, and eggs in the flu shot. There is also cows blood in shoes but that doesn't really apply to health. As well as hundreds of other common products (vitamin supplements, lip sticks & glosses, plastic bags, tires, fabric softener, shampoo & conditioner, and even fireworks!)

Other Answers:

  • Well, veganism is about animals...so maybe that is what happened that led you to "quit". Are you aware that veganism is about MUCH more than what you eat? It involves using clothing, health & beauty and household products that have not caused harm to animals and it involves not supporting industries that cause harm to animals.Sorry, there is NO way ANYONE can predict how much weight you would or wouldn't lose after becoming vegan..... but then again... veganism is NOT about dieting, it IS about animals.
