what are some pros and cons of a belly button piercing?

I'm trying to decide if i should get my belly button pierced. i have some chub so it wouldn't look as good as on a skinny person. i really like the jewelry though. what are some pros and cons? would it make me look fatter or slimmer? stuff like that
