What's the best way to gain weight?

I'm 14 years old about 5'5" and 95lbs and I'm really scrawny. I don't work out but I am willing to. What is the best, healthiest, most efficient way for me to gain weight? Thank you.

How to Lose Weight while Pregnant

Recommended Answer:

I used to have big problems with being skinny and not being able to bulk up. I tried different programs, eating healthy, but I finally realized I didn't know exactly what I was doing. You need to be performing the right exercises, sets, reps, and resting the right amount of time in between to effectively build muscle. Nutrition is also important. What foods to eat, how many times a day, etc.I found a website that I used and answered all these questions for me. They will provide you with a custom workout & nutrition program designed to help you build muscle. I did a program from them and put on a lot of size. The workouts were hard, but it was the nutrition that really helped me build size. Check out: http://www.fullonfit.comGood Luck & I hope this post helped

Other Answers:

  • Eat a healthy diet, get all your food groups in. Drink mostly water. You want to do a lot of strength training to bulk up, do a little cardio too though to keep in shape
  • build muscle, eat protein shakes the other option isnt healthy but u will gain weight fast if u eat fattening food
  • Eat more or and what I call a physical diet. See how over weight people go on diets? You can do the opposite. Take the elevator instead of the chairs etc. I have always been on the skinny side so I know more physical activity makes you lose weight. The best is to eat enough healthy food and calories so that you can have the extra calories to burn when you do work out.
  • It's as hard for some people to gain weight as it is for people to lose weight. You need a regular intake of more calories than you burn. Toning exercises will help too. To gain 2.2 lb a month you need an extra 300-350 calories a day.Keep a food diary. Eat 3 meals plus 2-3 snacks. Make the meals bigger. Have plenty of healthy snacks on hand. (nuts, seeds, raisins, rice pudding, custard or yogurt, cereal or cereal bars, milk, yogurt drinks, smoothies, cheese and crackers, fruit, a small chocolate bar) Keep a food diary for free at http://www.mypyramidtracker.gov/If you're too active, take time to relax every day. Once you get up to your target weight, keep up your increased food intake to fuel your exercise.
  • To gain weight you need to combine protein foods with starchy carbohydrates as indicated below. Good weight gaining combinations are bread, cereals, pasta, rice, potatoes or sweet potatoes combined with meat, poultry, eggs, cheese, nuts or sea food. Peanut butter sandwiches and cheese sandwiches are good weight gaining combinations. The protein in the above combinations will help to gain extra muscles.
  • Eat hella donuts. Anything pretty much just a lot of it. Chocolate brownies yum
