My dog is breaking out in red hives?

Dog:Name: StoneyAge: 4 years oldWeight: 41 lbsProblem:-Red hives on her chest and stomach. Paws are also red (she licks at them often)-She's lost weight since her last vet visit. She was 45 lbs when we took her last year. When we took her a few weeks ago, she was 41 lbs, even though she's kept on a steady diet and we've been increasing the amount of food we give her as she get older so she'll gain some weight. They doctor expressed concern about her weight loss, but told us to keep her on a steady diet. Background Info:-We're not worry-warts. We don't take her every time something is wrong because we're always able to find a home remedy that won't harm her even if it doesn't help her.-She really only goes to the vet about once or twice a year, mostly for her annual shots.-Stoney has never been particularly large. She most she's ever weighed was 45 lbs, which is why we were trying to feed her up a bit.-Her face isn't swollen.-Stoney has a history of getting into things. My mom thinks it's eczema. We haven't taken her to the vet yet because it doesn't seem to be affecting her too horribly. There's been no drop in her activity and she doesn't growl or shy away when I touch her, so I know she's not hurting. What could be the problem? Thanks! It's 5:40 PM. I just gave her 20mL of Benedryl. It's been recommended by the vet before to give her this and it's helped her before. It didn't do anything thing when I gave it to her yesterday, though (Sep 14, 2013).It's 5:40 PM. How to Lose Weight With Portion Control

It sounds like some sort of allergic reaction. You can go ahead and give benedryl at a dose of 1 mg per pound of dog orally and see if that helps for tonight. However, you will need to monitor carefully for the next several hours. If any respiratory distress occurs, this could mean airway swelling, and you need to go to the emergency hospital. If the hives/swelling are still there in the morning, you will need to follow up with your regular vet.

Help me with my diet?

Okay, so lately I've realized my weight has climbed the bit up the scale lately and I want to lose 5 to 10 pounds. I don't go on many diets because a majority of the diets that list specific foods to eat are not any good for me because I am the pickiest eater known the world.Let's assume I'm the pickiest eater in the world, here. The worst there is. I like plain foods - no sauces or dressings or seasonings. I don't like any type of condiments, either. As for fruits and vegetables I like oranges, apples, bananas, green beans, corn... The stereotypical bunch. What's the best diet you know of, or the best food plan to help me lose weight? Or, what's a 5 day plan for what I should eat for breakfast, lunch, and dinner? Thanks!I'm only 15 so I won't and can't pay for pills or diet groups or books.

Why does my family always make fun of how I look?

Female, Im 4'11, I was 155 lbs and now 104 lbs. When I was overweight my family made fun of me and now that I lost it all they say I'm too skinny, that I have no butt, etc & it actually hurts because I worked my A S S off to get where I'm at. And let me tell you my whole family is obese so they're not perfect! And when people compliment me on my weight loss some of my family members will say "Come on she was never heavy to begin with" or "It's because she hasn't had a kid yet" or "I wish I could starve myself too". Why do they do this? They make me feel ugly, That I need "curves" to be a woman, but I don't have a thigh gap and I have wear a 32DD, i thought those counted as curves but i guess not... Oh & by the way I'm healthy, I went to the doctor and he's proud of me and asks me to give advice to other teens to help them lose weight so that's not a reason for them to make rude of comments about my weight. What do you think? ):

Don't let them get to your head. If you are happy and proud of how you are right now, that's what really counts. Im pretty sure they are just joking around.

Other Answers:

  • It's because they're jealous that you're actually doing something with your life, being proactive. haters are gonna hate.
  • Ther just jealous. or you take it to serious or they think you do.. or idk.. Sad right? i notice these things always happen to bigger people
  • Congrats on the weight loss, I dropped 225lbs. myself so I know how hard it can be.Your families behavior is actually quite common among people that feel they have not accomplished anything significant in their life. I do not know if they are overweight or not the behavior is still the same. They do it to make themselves feel better and even though they should stop, it may be difficult. In the end, you should be proud of what you accomplished and just realize that ALL the things they say are really about their own self esteem issues.Good luck!
  • they are jealous of you and your weight loss success. Congratulations, and by the sound of it I bet you look fabulous. btw, as a man, 32DD count as curves.
  • They are hard to please or hyper critical. If you can learn to block out their unsolicited and unkind commentary, you'll be able to ignore anyone who does the same elsewhere. As to why, you'd need to ask them. Even then, you won't get a reliable answer. You might be the scapegoat in the family, the one that takes the punishment. That is in the theory of family structure in the dysfunctional, maybe, addictive or alcoholic family, which I learned about in sociology class. I don't know if that theory is still taught, however. If you subscribe to this theory, you'll learn to feel sorry for the members of your family who project their insecurities onto you. You might create a portfolio of information about it with the help of one of your teachers who might have studied psychology and let your family know at a family meeting that your understand them and want to help them overcome their feelings of inferiority. Or, just get the information, and when the time is right, move out.
