How can I lose 65 pounds in 6 months or less?

Hi everyone. I am a 19 year old female trying to lose 65 pounds. I currently weigh 200 pounds, being that I am 5 feet 7 inches tall I set a goal weight for myself of 135 pounds. I feel like this is a reasonable and healthy goal for me. However, I need help reaching it. My family is all overweight and they do not understand my want to lose weight and become healthy and in shape. No one supports me, so I feel very alone in this. That being said I am tried of being overweight or "the heavy girl" in situations and my doctor recently told me that I should make an effort to try and lose weight because he is starting to worry about my heath. I have tried to lose weight for the past year but the only thing that happened was I gained 10 pounds. It seems like no matter what I try nothing works and to be honest I'm not sure how to go about losing this much weight. Like I said my family is overweight and they don't know much about weight loss either. I am honestly so close to just giving up on ever becoming healthy and losing this weight. I need someone to help me and tell me what I can do to lose 65 pounds and keep it off. Thank you in advance for whoever answers this. :)

You need to talk to a doctor, dietician, and/ or a physical trainer. It is unsafe to lose more than 2-3 pounds per week. Also it is important to have all food groups in your diet. Exercise should consist of a balance between cardio an weightlifting. Don't lose hope! If you are on a limited income just do a lot of reliable research. Calisthenics are a costless way to exercise at home. If your family will not buy healthy food just try to make the best choices you can eating wise and consider your portion size. It's VERY hard work and it will take a LONG time but don't give up! Good luck on being healthy.

  • Eat a lot less, eat more healthy foods, exercise in some way and you'll see the pounds flying off :)
  • Really a reasonable goal! I would suggest a calorie intake of 1,000-1,200 calories a day. Walk 4 times a week. Avoid all processed foods. Take a caffiene pill daily (some are like 7 bucks a bottle) for energy and a metabolism boost. Don't give up.
