How long before anorexia becomes noticeable?

I have a school project on mental health and I'm doing anorexia for it. I need to know how long it takes before the anorexia becomes noticeable, for example: when do people begin to notice the weight loss, dark circles under eyes, thinning hair, bones showing? Also, do anorexics tend to be unhappy/depressed?? Thank you to anyone that answers, it'll help a lot!

How to Fast to Lose Weight

Recommended Answer:

It depends.everyone is different. However it doesn't take long.It may be hard to notice signs and symptoms of anorexia nervosa because people with anorexia nervosa often go to great lengths to disguise their thinness, eating habits or physical problems. For me it was about 1,5-2 months. And of course you can notice emotional and behavior symptomsAnxiety before eating or guilt after eatingFrequent weighting to check the weight lossDenial of hungerAvoiding or skipping meal regularlyIrritabilityAnxietyDepressionPhysical signs likeHair lossOverly sensitive to coldDry nailsAbsence of menstruationInsomniaDepression plagues many people with anorexia. People with anorexia fail to eat enough food to maintain a healthy weight. The results can be tragic. Studies show that anorexics are 50 times more likely than the general population to die as a result of suicideSome people with anorexia lose weight mainly through severely restricting the amount of food they eat. They may also try to lose weight by exercising excessively. Others with anorexia engage in binging and purging, similar to bulimia. They control calorie intake by vomiting after eating or by misusing laxatives, diuretics or enemas. Many anorexics deny having a problem; however, some do recognize their eating disordered behavior, but do not know what to do to fix it. Anorexia is a debilitating illness that for some is hard to understand, but for those who suffer from it, find it hard to over come
