I've been drinking alcohol since I was 19. I drank for about two years. I quit for about two years following that but started again. It had gotten progressively worse and the last six months, I've been drinking up to eight-ten beers a night. If wasn't beer, I'd drink a pint of Smirnoff or 1-2 bottles of wine. I'd do this usually 5 days a week.... I decided it was time to quit. I'm 26 year old female, 133 lbs. So I was drinking a lot given the circumstances. Once I would start drinking, I wouldn't want to stop. I'm aware I'm an alcoholic and it's time to give it up. I haven't drank in the days. I've noticed that I am drinking a lot of water,.but barely urinating, is this normal when detoxing? I'm assuming my body is trying to keep all this extra water it's not used to. Also, should I expect to lose weight? My diet is typically very healthy, I've always counted calories, especially to make room for alcohol. I do eat and definitely always had drunk muchchies... Why I've barely gained any weight is beyond me, but I'd guess I was drinking excess.of 5000+ calories a week. What side effects should I expect?
