How to Lose Weight After Having a Baby

Average weight loss is only 9-15lbs a year, so this is a long term lifestyle issue not a quick fix. You require both an appropriate diet and very regular vigorous exercise.

  • It is possible, but it's probably unhealthy to lose that much weight in that much time. But to answer your question, you can't specifically lose weight in your abdominal area, you have to lose it everywhere. So that includes doing full body exercises. Cardio, such as running is a great way to lose calories fast. However, losing weight mostly depends on what you eat. Dieting is 40% exercise and 60% of what you eat. So just try to eat healthy. Don't snack on sweets, or drink soda or juices. Try to limit how many carbohydrates you eat daily, such as bread, cereals, and pasta. Usually it's great before getting active, as it exerts energy, but if you aren't going to workout afterwards, try to stray away from it. Anyway, good luck! :)
  • eat healthy and don't eat to fast because your stomach doesn't process that you have enough to eat and send the signal to your brain. but dont work out too much and eat less! that's a BIG mistake! dont skip meals because you slow down the process of lousing weight because your body trys to hold on to it if your not taking in food. running helps but just really make sure your taking care of your self and giving it the nutrition it needs. just try your best not to over or under eat. i dont think you need to stay longer! 2 hours is enough but like if your sitting on the couch watching tv you could do sit ups and planks on the ground and stuff. when i watch tv i work out or stretch
  • Okay so we are the same age, you are a few inches taller than me. I started at 157 pounds. I was overweight. So I joined the gym. Two hours is great. Change your diet! Eat fruit as snacks- it saves you!! Cut down carbs and don't eat trash! Eat white meats and fish, vegetables, rice. Dont drink soda. (diet soda as a treat) drink water, low sugar concentrated juice, green tea and the occasional coffee. I lost 20 pounds in about 5 months, your goal is a little extreme but it probably can be done! I have had set backs and often linger at certain weights for a while. I am now 135 pounds and I aim to loose another 23 pounds over the next year. :) good luck!
  • As far as losing weight 4 months is more than enough... As far as perfectly tight flat stomach depends on your body because of extra skin and stuff like that. As far as how long at the gym 2 hours is good I guess depending on the workouts you do if you really want to burn fat fast I would say do sprints... 60:120s are great ( run 60 seconds walk 120 and repeat )... Try 10 minutes: jog (treadmill if not bike for 15 depending on your knees and stuff) then 2000 meters on row machine if you have access to one. After that do 10-15 minutes of abs ( try adding weight after your 2nd-3rd week ) and make sure to do declines. And when you're done do another 2000m rower or jog for 10 then cool down... Everyday rest Sunday first week then switch your rest day after every two weeks.
  • I lost 46 lbs in 3 1/2 months. I seriously straightened out my eating habits, cut out red meat except for 1 day a week. I ate salad with no fat dressing every day at lunch with only veggies (no bacon bits, no eggs, no fat) I ate only about 4-6 oz of fish or chicken with supper which consisted mainly of green vegetables, and 1/2C. of low fat cottage cheese. I drank about a cup of skim milk with some cereal every morning, and my main drink was iced tea w/ splenda or water. I allowed myself a cheat meal one day a week. I had spaghetti 1 cup with marinara sauce sometimes for a meal. I had Smart Ones for lunch sometimes. Tight control of your diet will cause the weight to drop off. I also walked 3 miles in the evening or late afternoon everyday except Monday. I rode a bicycle. I work in a hospital that has a fitness center, so I used the treadmill when it rained outside, and lifted weights for 1/2 hr about twice a week.

Is it okay if I have a day where I eat whatever I want?

Hi, I'm 5'3 and 91 pounds. I'm supposed to gain weight up to about 97-100. I don't eat very much but lately I am just craving so many foods; so I'm planning a day where I can have whatever I want. I'm not talking an extra piece of pizza, I mean with all the things I would like to eat it would probably be about 3500 calories (1 pound). I know I will gain a couple pounds, but that's okay since I'm expected to gain it anyway. I know that I can't continue to do this but now since I am underweight would it hurt to have one day like that? what sort of effects would it have?I'd also like to add that I exercise and eat healthy (lots of vegetables and fruits) most of the time and I'm not planning on making this a regular thing, definitely not weekly.

health wiseunless those fats are the healthy type (guessing not, you suggested pizza), you can have severe heart problems, sometimes fatal, if you make this a habitif you want to do this like once a month go for it, but once a week is too much, plus this is a way to build bad habits, and soon that 1 day will become 2, then 3, and so on

  • It is absolutely fine to have one day where you are able to eat as much as you want. As long as you dont indulge yourself like crazy I dont see any type of bad things that will happen to you. It is actually a little healthy to indulge every now and again so your body can consume anything that you might not be getting.
  • Why put crap into your body? Weight is not the only indicator of health. In fact, it is can be a very bad one, as it is very misleading. Someone can be in the right weight range and be totally unfit. If you eat proper portions sizes, a balance diet, and get plenty of cardio and resistance training, then your body will equilibrate to its natural weight, which will be healthy, regardless if the number on the scale. Stop worrying about your weight and make an effort to be healthy.

How to Lose Weight & Keep a Healthy Looking Face

Weight/fat loss is 70 - 80% diet, and the rest exercise...so if you are doing plenty of exercise (and keeping it varied so your body doesn't adapt to it) then focus on your diet...what are you eating???Look up 'clean eating" and if you aren't already eating in that manner, then make that lifestyle change...basically it means cutting out as much processed food as you can...
