What is the best way for me to lose weight and get in shape?

Background info: I am a 21 year old girl who is 5'6 and 250lbs the last time I was weighed last year. (please no harsh comments...they won't help)I just started going to the gym again today after about 8 months of not going. I did minimal lifting and went on the elliptical machine for a half hour and went 3.35 miles. I plan on going 3 times a week and swimming 2 times a week. My main goal is to lose weight, as my weight has been a sore spot for years ( I used to be very athletic in high school). Will this show results if paired with eating better?Do you have any workout suggestions? I would love to hear any serious replies. A best answer will be chosen. Thank you!

And you're heading in a good direction. :)The evidence is pretty clear and I can back it up with my own personal experience - killing yourself in the gym isn't going to get you where you want to go all by itself. You HAVE to eat right too. I don't like saying that because I'm a junk-food junkie but it's true. No amount of exercise will overcome poor nutrition.The key is finding healthy foods that you enjoy. How can I stop eating so much?

I find that I eat a lot and it's really getting in the way of my weight loss... I need some tips on how to eat less an how to stop being constantly hungry and I am very hydrated. I drink about 8 bottles everyday because of how much I sweat during exercise. How do I stop feeling so hungry? I can't do the eating 5 or 6 small meals because I never feel satisfied after eating and am way more hungry than usual. What Is an efficient way of feeding that ensures me not being hungry all the time? I am usually okay for about 2 or 3 days but on the 4th day It usually gets to me and I overeat.. I'm not really that restrictive, I eat around 2,000 calories everyday and burn around 1,500 with exercise, I hike for 3 hours with a 65 lb backpack. Also, I am 17, 5'8, 164lbs.

If you feel what you have is something abnormal then there's no harm in checking. Probably the smart thing to do. But, given what you said, especially as a backpacker who knows what 65 lbs.feels like, I'm going to take the 'tough love' approach. Man the F up. You're hungry? Too freaking bad. You don't know what hungry is. Go ask someone dying of starvation about hungry. THAT'S hungry. Want to lose weight? Stop eating more than you burn. Eat smarter. CUT OUT the sugar. Show some discipline. Understand what food is...fuel.Can't do that? Then get fat. Totally your call. Good luck.

  • Kyle you may have an ulcer. Go to the doctor. Water is good. If no ulcer. Eat as much fruit and vegetables as you want throughout the day. Low calories. You may simply have an eating disorder. Without knowing what your diet is, medical history it is tough to say. Just go to the doctor. Have a meal history with you as to what you are eating on a daily basis. They will look into a possible ulcer, check your BMI and other issues I have not mentioned

I have an older cat who is losing weight quickly.?

I have a very active 19 year old indoor all of his life Bengal Tabby Cat.He still has his family jewels, in case of breeding.His appetite is one can of wet food per day, and a stand by munchie bowl of dry food which he'll graze on & off during the day.Now up to a month or so ago, he was pure mussel and weighed around 15 pounds; but recently he has been losing weight rather quickly and look to be skin and bones.His active ways haven't changed a bit, runs around here like it's a race track and is quick to play.What would cause an active cat to lose weight so quickly when he has never before?Thanks for any input.Yes litter box cleaned every couple of days.

  • Maybe if hes active he needs more food try giving him a little more food cause as any animal gets older it reacts differently to different things sometimes they gain weight fast and sometimes they loose weight fast so u may need to give ur cat more food try it and see how it works

  • my cat is going through this (Came back from the vet yesterday about it) your cat is suffering from Microglanditious. its a common form of anorexia. i now have to feed my 20 year old cat through thin tube full of blended flax seeds and honey for the next 9 months. what causes this is the amonia from their urine. do you clean your litter box every 3 days as recommended?
