How would my weight affect my tattoo?

I am think about getting a tattoo. I've been thinking about it for a VERY LONG time. And I am pretty much ready to get it. My concern is, I also have a goal to lose A LOT of weight. Like 150lbs-ish. The tattoo would be on the back of my upper right shoulder area. And it would be probably like the size of my palm. How would my weight loss affect a tattoo in that area? Oh, and the tattoo would be words and silhouetted birds

Probably not too much, but I would ask the tattoo artist prior to having it done. Also, may I suggest considering the very real possibility that later in life, you might possibly regret it?

How to Get Motivated to Lose Weight

Recommended Answer:

You won't gain weight from eating anything unless what you eat causes you to consume more calories than your body uses up. That's the simple answer to it. There is a lot of talk about "cutting out carbs". Although reducing carbs can be helpful, there is no logic behind cutting them out completely. Eat healthy, excercise regularly and you should be fine.

Other Answers:

  • Go eat McDonald's and you will gain weigt
  • ...No... in fact just the opposite. It may be a bit unhealthy to starve yourself to that extent. To lose weight in a healthy way, you would want to eat healthy stuff (like you are), but then have them 3 times a day, and then exercise daily.
  • As long as you ate a small portion, you will be fine.
  • No, I don't think you will gain weight by eating a potato or white rice each day. I know a lot of diets out there that focus on high protein would tell you to cut those out completely while you are trying to lose weight but if you can't live without 1 serving per day, I honestly don't think it will cause you to gain weight. Have you tried switching to a sweet potato or brown rice just for the extra nutrients vs the white foods? Good luck!
