is it possible to build big muscles without increasing my wait?

my height is 5'8" and i have increased my weight from 57 kgs to 66 kgs in 5 months. my body has already got its shape, now my trainer wants me to gain more weight, atleast 6 kgs more, but i really don't want to gain more weight. i have seen many people with similar weight but bigger muscles. so is there any way?? which supplement is preferable for the same. i am really confused please help.
