I'm a beginner at the gym. what should I do to kick start my workout?

I am 24 and 233lbs. I just signed up at the gym.(planet fitness) I have no idea what to do to lose weight. How far can I push myself? Anybody have some workout routines they do to lose weight?

Get hold of the gym trainer to arrange a personal program for you, which will need monitored and revised. Start slowly, but try and come 5 times a week. Clearly you will also need some dietary advice as well.

  • Leave planet fitness.No, really. If you want to make any kind of gains at all get out of there and join a real gym. It's supposed to be a no judgement zone, but set you're weights down too heavy, grunt just a little and they'll pull the lunk alarm. It's a place lazy people go to say they workout, without actually getting the gains of working out.Pizza Friday? Bagel Tuesday? Come on, if you want to get and stay in shape, you can't have those every freaking week. Not to mention I don't think their free weights go very high and I don't think they have a squat rack (could be wrong, but if they have there will more then like be people curling there instead of squatting).Join a proper gym, and try the the beginner routine I linked below. It's great and a lot of huge people have started with it.
