Is running on the treadmill the same thing as running at the park?

I remember when I was 16 years, I lost a lot of weight and got skinny really fast by only running at the park. I used to get amazing compliments everyday. Every week was a difference on my body. But I gained it all back during my pregnancy at the age of 18. Now I'm 20 and I run every day on my treadmill. Plus, I also use my jump rope and I don't see any results at all. So my question is: Running on the treadmill is the same as running at the park? Do they both have the same effect. What's the difference and which one helps you loose weight faster? Because I don't see any results after running on my treadmill already for 6 whole months!!!

How to Lose Weight Fast and Keep it Off

Recommended Answer:

No, a treadmill is not the same at all! The park has hills and downhills, and also has varying textures (grass, concrete/sidewalk, etc.), which tone different muscles at the same time. The treadmill only goes straight, and you can either be running on a flat surface, or running up a simulated hill. Try to only use the treadmill when it is impossible for you to go outside (snowing, park closed, etc.)

Other Answers:

  • by far
  • Running at the park lets you people watch, a well known ingredient for weight loss. You can look it up.
  • They are not the same. The treadmill helps a little because its moving too. Your body won't be as used to the shock of pavement or dirt. Id say outside is best. If you must use the treadmill do your normal run but move the incline up to 1.0 to 2.0 to help offset what I mentioned earlier.
