My dog is breaking out in red hives?

Dog:Name: StoneyAge: 4 years oldWeight: 41 lbsProblem:-Red hives on her chest and stomach. Paws are also red (she licks at them often)-She's lost weight since her last vet visit. She was 45 lbs when we took her last year. When we took her a few weeks ago, she was 41 lbs, even though she's kept on a steady diet and we've been increasing the amount of food we give her as she get older so she'll gain some weight. They doctor expressed concern about her weight loss, but told us to keep her on a steady diet. Background Info:-We're not worry-warts. We don't take her every time something is wrong because we're always able to find a home remedy that won't harm her even if it doesn't help her.-She really only goes to the vet about once or twice a year, mostly for her annual shots.-Stoney has never been particularly large. She most she's ever weighed was 45 lbs, which is why we were trying to feed her up a bit.-Her face isn't swollen.-Stoney has a history of getting into things. My mom thinks it's eczema. We haven't taken her to the vet yet because it doesn't seem to be affecting her too horribly. There's been no drop in her activity and she doesn't growl or shy away when I touch her, so I know she's not hurting. What could be the problem? Thanks! It's 5:40 PM. I just gave her 20mL of Benedryl. It's been recommended by the vet before to give her this and it's helped her before. It didn't do anything thing when I gave it to her yesterday, though (Sep 14, 2013).It's 5:40 PM. How to Lose Weight With Portion Control

It sounds like some sort of allergic reaction. You can go ahead and give benedryl at a dose of 1 mg per pound of dog orally and see if that helps for tonight. However, you will need to monitor carefully for the next several hours. If any respiratory distress occurs, this could mean airway swelling, and you need to go to the emergency hospital. If the hives/swelling are still there in the morning, you will need to follow up with your regular vet.

How can I get help, I'm developing anorexia but still a healthy weight so nobody takes me seriously!?

I have a bmi of 20.9 so I am healthy but a few weeks ago i was a stone and three pounds heavier. I am 13 and I eat 400 calories some days, then some days it can go right up to 1000 . But I make sure everything I eat has as little sugar content as possible. I have low blood pressure (doctor said) , dizziness, headaches and always feel so tired. Sometimes my eyes go kinda blurry too. I have told my mum but she just told me I need to eat more! I know this already! I need to know HOW to eat more. I've tried to already but it just leaves me feeling horrible, bloated , fat and really bad about myself. I feel so much better with a lighter stomach . I'm going on holidays tomorrow and want to enjoy my holiday without putting on weight because I've tried so hard to lose it

That is a rough and scary situation you are in. I can't imagine how fearful you are. It is great you want to get help and I believe you need to take to your mom again. Tell her that YOU KNOW you are struggling with an eating disorder and if you don't get help now it is just going to get worse. Tell her YOU NEED help and you need her support because without it things are going to take a turn for the worst.I am unsure of where you live, but I am pretty sure it is not a USA (I live in the USA). Do you live in the UK? If so I found the NHS service directory (http://www.nhs.uk/service-search/). You could type eating disorders into the search box and type in your location to figure out what services are provided in your area. Also, you can call the National Centre for Eating Disorders to book an appointment with an eating disorder specialist. Here is their website: http://eating-disorders.org.uk/counselling/book-an-assessment/. Another website you may want to check out is http://www.b-eat.co.uk/get-help/ . It tells you more about your illness and how you can get help! You can even call their free hotline specifically for youth which is 0845 634 7650. Remember it is important to talk to your mom again and express the seriousness of your illness.
