How to Reduce Body Fat Without Losing Weight
Recommended Answer:
Alot of your weight is in the motor, trans, suspension, and body structure. The weight loss you would be willing to do will only net you about 50lbs.You could replace the front seats with poly racing seats to help, but if you do more it will alter the looks. With these cars it will only add up in tiny amounts as you do more.... composite disc brakes, coil-overs, composite wheels, carbon fiber panels, Lexan glass, racing seats, remove back seat, remove interior panels and carpeting, shaving the frame, fuel cell, etc....I drove a 350Z and it is a great engine and can mod it for alot of power, but the MPG will never get better as it wasnt made that way, its usually always around the 16mpg in city up to 20ish if your a grandma driver.Other Answers:
- I would work on improving air intake/flow and fuel system before doing all that...
- Leave your 270 pound wife at home.
- if you pull the seats and carpets, there is typically sound deadening material under the carpet particularly around the dashboard/firewall a sort of fiber material that can be removed, and then put the carpet and seats back in and it still looks stock, you may hear more engine and road noise but its lighter. This is typical sort of prep for showroom stock racing.
- To be blunt, it's a heavy car for being a compact with a V6. There's a lot you can do...but look at it realistically. You could drop anywhere from 20-40lbs per seat (depending on if yours has leather or not, power or not) by swapping to aftermarket seats. On the cheaper end are something like the Sparco Speed 2 which is a fixed back seat ($370), or a Cobra Daytona is a reclining seat ($750ea). Or, you could go high end with something like a Sparco Pro 2000 Carbon and drop another 10lbs each...for the low price of $2000 each (all prices don't include mounting brackets, etc.).You can switch to run flat tires and ditch the spare tire, that would save about 30-40lbs, but will cost more in tires, as run-flats are more expensive.A carbon fiber hood is about $600 and would lose about 10-15lbs most likely.Carbon fenders will lose about 5-10lbs each, at a cost of $750 for a pair.A carbon fiber trunk/hatch is also available. This might save decent amount of weight, possibly up to 20-30lbs, for about $600. No guarantees on weight. Of course all those parts would alter the appearance unless you painted them. I'd paint them, then you wouldn't have any change in appearance...prep and paint would cost about another $1000-1500.So at this point, you would have dropped anywhere from 110lbs to 185lbs, at a cost of anywhere from $4000-8000. Yeah, imagine how much gas you could buy with $4000...
- kick your wife or girl fiend or boyfriend out of the car.good luck
