How do I get my cat to gain weight?

I have a very skinny orange cat who just turned two, he is shorthair but very fluffy so you can't tell that he's skin and bone until you give him a bath, but I don't know why he's like that! He's just always been skinny, and we took him to the vet and he doesn't have worms or anything. He does go outside alot so maybe he exercising too much? Also, we leave the food bowl down all day for our cats but he doesn't seem to care much about it and doesn't eat as much as my other three. I don't know if this means anything but also he has some sort of mental disorder, we think he's autistic , but we aren't 100% sure. I was wondering if there were any homemade cat food recipes that I could make for him? He is two and weighs 8 lbs and he's very long, and my 6 month old kitten is only one pound less, 7lbs. The kitten went to the vet two days ago and they said he is very muscular and perfect weight so ollie must be underweight. What can I feed him so he gains but stays healthy??
