Is it bad to pick a day not to eat?

I am trying to lose weight and I thought about picking a day once a week (like monday) where I would just fast. I would still drink water to keep myself full and hydrated, just not food. Please give me your opinions if you think this would be beneficial to me or not. Please no rude comments.

Recommended Answer:

Yes it's bad too skip days, because when you're hungry your body eats your muscles first, not your fat. although here's a fast healthy method.1.drink plenty of COLD water, your body has to warm it up to digest it, it burns fat to warm it up.2. Eat a lot 2 days, then eat a little 3 days, then keep on that track. eating a lot will make your body think it has to digest that much every day and your metabolism will become accustomed to it, then eating little amounts will throw it off and burn more calories than it needs to in the process of digestion.

Other Answers:

  • Would be very beneficial but not to do it every week. Another issue is that studies show that total fasting to that extent is extreme and people tend to revert back. it is better to just have healthy habits consistently and stay away from junk food But total fasting every once in awhile is great.
  • Withholding food for long periods of time will cause more weight gain from calories the next day because your brain gies into starvation mode and hold on to all the calories you intake.
  • Thats not a good way to loose weight. If you don't eat food for a while your body thinks you're starving. Then when you do eat, your body is going to want to store the food as fat. It's better to eat small meals throughout the day and eat clean, then give yourself a couple cheat days to indulge.
