Will I be able to lose weight?

I'm 13, 5''2, and weigh 135 pounds! I recently quit Taekwondo a half a year ago, and all my hard work of three years went down the drain, and I gained back a lot of weight! I can't believe I let my self go like that, and now I can't even go to the pool with my friends because they're both skinny and I feel like i'm the only one fat there! All my class mates are all skinny and I can't wear shorts without worrying my thighs starting a fire, seriously, they produce friction! I have to admit though, I do love pastries and sweets, but i'm willing to stop! My question is, if I only eat things like vegetables, fruits, brown bread, brown rice, chicken with no seasonings, eggs and run for 30 minutes a day for the rest of this month, will I lose weight, and how much? 3 pounds, 5? Also, does the three day diet work if you exercise along with it?? I'll do anything to lose weight, help!

How to Lose Weight Quickly Without Taking Pills

Recommended Answer:

First: a healthy weight loss goal is 1-2 pounds per week. There are a little more than 3 weeks left in the month, so you could lose 3-6 pounds, or maybe a bit more because it's easy to lose weight when you're just starting out.Okay: because you're young, you should do your best to focus on eating healthy, paying attention to when you're hungry/full, doing exercise that you like, and not depriving yourself. Don't follow the 3 day diet: you basically just limit your calories on it, so you lose a lot of water weight, but you'll gain it right back and it'll be harder to lose weight later, bc your metabolism will have slowed down. (See this : http://www.webmd.com/diet/features/the-3-day-diet .) If you need a good starting point, this ( http://essenaoneill.tumblr.com/setplan ) is a simple diet/exercise plan written by a teen girl who used it to get in great shape. I really recommend it...it's very simple, flexible, and it works, because it basically focuses on eating healthy foods and paying attention to what you eat. In general, just focus on eating more fruits and veggies, whole grains (like whole wheat bread and brown rice), protein (eggs, lean meat, nuts, beans, tofu, etc.) and healthy fats (nuts, avocados, etc.). You shouldn't run every day, especially if you haven't been running up til this point, because you can get shin splints, etc. Instead, try to run 3 days a week (maybe mon, wed, fri), do easy strength training 3 days a week (tues, thurs, sat), and take at least 1 rest day. More tips: drink loads of water, take a vitamin, vary your diet, eat at home more. You can eat sweets if you'd like- I recently lost 10ish pounds, and I ate a bit of chocolate every few nights, just not a lot! Exercise portion control, and don't completely deprive yourself. Once you start seeing/feeling results, you won't want to stop, trust me!Good luck!(:

Other Answers:

  • Drop all the sweets completely, not even one sweet every day or second day. All together. Exercise as much as you want or can but don't over-do it, give your body some days of break. Eat super well and you should lose a dozen pounds or more in the month
